Fitness Advice

box genesis With all of our trips, once you have booked with us, we will send you a fitness guide that is appropriate to the trip you are travelling on. These fitness guides have been put together by a qualified fitness professional, giving advice and guidance to ensure you have the necessary fitness levels to complete your trip, after all the fitter you are the more you will enjoy yourself.

These fitness guides are generic guides and each individual must take into consideration current level of fitness, ability, age, suitability to exercise and experience. Should you wish to have a more individualised plan put together for you, you can contact Andy at Box Genesis to discuss this further or seek the advice of other fitness professionals.

Travel Insurance

It is necessary for you to have the appropriate insurance for any trip outside of the UK. Factors which should be included in the insurance are liability insurance, helicopter rescue from mountains, and make sure it is relevant for mountain sports. There are other factors you should also consider. Please take advice from an insurance specialist such as Snowcard or the The British Mountaineering Council.  These are just two we know of – there are others.

Walking & Technical Equipment

When you confirm your place on a trip we will send you a recommended kit list to help you out together whatever you will need.  On a lot of our trips if technical equipment such as crampons, ice axes and harnesses are required we will supply these.  We do not supply walking or climbing boots for any of our trips but we will advise you on places to hire them or you may prefer to buy your own.

When buying walking and technical equipment there are plenty of retailers out there.  A small example of them are:

Some brands you might like to try are: Rab, Mountain Equipment, North Face, Paramo, Patagonia, Berghaus, Haglofs. Again, these are just examples - there are others.

Flights & Transport

As we are sure you are aware there are many airlines out there with a wide variety of prices and services.  When you confirm your place on a trip we will be able to advise you of any special routes you may choose to consider when making your way to destinations, such as Kilimanjaro, for example.

We will also advise you on the various ways to connect to your resorts if transport is not included in the price of your trip.  This includes taxis, car hire and public transport so you can choose the option to best suit your needs.
