Kilimanjaro Lemosho route
The uppermost point of the world's highest free-standing mountain is Uhuru peak. The Lemosho route is a little used, unspoiled and slightly longer and less steep route up to the Shira Plateau.
Kilimanjaro Machame route
Standing at 5,895m, Mt Kilimanjaro is, of course, the highest mountain in Africa. The locals know its highest peak as Uhuru that translates as 'freedom' in Swahili, which perfectly represents the feeling you will have when standing on its summit looking down on to the surrounding plains.
