Snowdonia Scrambles

Intro

Moderateskills icon

1953 saw a British team attempt Mount Everest, the highest and mightiest of all mountains. Where did this courageous team train and practice their skills? The mountains of Snowdonia.

This is your opportunity to experience the same emotions, learn & practice some of the same skills, admire the same amazing vistas, just like that early Everest team.

We begin with an ascent of Tryfan, arguably the finest of all the mountains, for the quality of scrambling and mountain scenery are hard to beat. For the fit, we continue on to the Glyder plateau via the sharp arête of Bristly ridge, hold on tight for this one!

The next day, from the top of the Llanberis Pass, we then negotiate the knife edge arête of Crib Goch, here we are challenged not only physically, but also mentally as we are asked to deal with some serious exposure.

This trip offers everything so what are you waiting for?

Join us on a trip to the roof of Wales.

Course Requirements

To do this trip you need to have a good level of fitness and a decent head for heights. There is a requirement for scrambling and also some considerable exposure. This should not be your first mountain outing, previous hill walking experience is required and the fitter you are the more you will enjoy your trip.

The days will be long, approximately 7 - 9 hours of mountain walking and scrambling. You need to feel comfortable carrying a small day-sack and walking for extended periods and during adverse weather conditions, therefore a few training walks and visits to the gym will undoubtedly add to your overall enjoyment of the trip.

We recommend that you follow a fitness plan in preparation for your challenge, an example of one will be sent to you when you have confirmed your booking.

Although the fitness plan we will send to you has been devised by a fitness professional, this is only provided as a guide and you should seek professional advice before starting your own fitness regime.
