Prostate Cancer UK - Yorkshire 3 Peaks Fundraising Challenge

About Prostate Cancer UK

Challengingskills iconskills icon

Prostate Cancer UK fights to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life. We have three priorities:

1. Supporting men and providing information

2. Finding answers by funding research

3. Leading change to raise awareness and improve care

Supporting men and providing information

Our Specialist Nurses have time to talk and answer questions about prostate cancer and prostate problems. We provide free printed and downloadable information. Our online community and one-to-one support service connects men and their families with others who know what they're going through.

Finding answers through research

We fund research into tests, treatments and the causes of prostate cancer. Over the years, research in this area has been badly underfunded. We are changing this.

Leading change to raise awareness and improve care

With help from our volunteers, we work with the general public, the government and the NHS to raise awareness and get a better deal for men with prostate cancer.

Prostate Cancer UK fights to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life. We support men and provide vital information. We find answers by funding research into causes and treatments. And we lead change, raising the profile of the disease and improving care. We believe that men deserve better.

Prostate Cancer UK is a registered charity in England and Wales (1005541) and in Scotland (SC039332). Registered company 2653887

Yorkshire 3 Peaks

The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge is an attempt to climb the three highest peaks in Yorkshire in one day. These peaks are

  • Pen-Y-Ghent
  • Whernside
  • Ingleborough

To complete this route is to undertake one of the great outdoor challenges of the UK. It will be a tough day, but worth it for that feeling of satisfaction upon completion.

The scenery is dramatic and ever changing, wildlife abounds as do carpets of flowers encouraged by the nutrient rich soils of the Limestone pavement.

We start and finish in the sleepy village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale, from here we can observe much of the route that lies waiting for discovery. Upon our return to Horton, there will be transfers to your nearby accommodation where an evening meal can be enjoyed. All transfers during the trip are provided and all are short. The course is guided by experienced mountain leaders.
