Travel Safety Advice: Coronavirus
Update #22 – Tuesday 23rd February 2021
Hi All,
I am sure we speak for everyone, when we say we are very pleased that we are heading toward opening up! We can’t wait to get out and about again!
Assuming the timeline stays as is, then we will start delivering our UK based events again from 17th May. We eagerly await the Scottish and Welsh Government announcements regarding their planned timescales. Any amendments based on that, or any delay in opening up as a result of unforeseen changes to the timeline, we will address as and when we become aware.
Meanwhile, we will be contacting all our adventurers who are on UK events prior to 17th May to arrange to move you to a new date. If you haven’t heard from us or would like to take up contact about your event feel free to do so directly with your event planner.
Please remember that our Covid-19 Peace of Mind Policy remains in place: should we need to postpone your planned adventure as a result of Covid-19 travel restrictions, then you may transfer to any available date up to the end of 2022. This policy remains in place until further notice.
We wish everyone the very best of health. Stay safe and we very much look forward to seeing you on adventures!
Your Maximum Adventure Team
Update #21 – Friday 19th February 2021
Hi all,
We are now over 6 weeks into our third national lockdown and although our physical office remains closed, our virtual office is open with our team continuing to work from home; taking bookings, answering enquiries and planning trips as normal.
We do think that many of the events within the UK will be able to go ahead this year, within the main season of April – October. Certainly May onwards looks positive. And there also seem to be some recent positive noises toward international travel, again, certainly within Europe. In actual fact, our view is that availability is much more likely to be an issue within the UK this year and we await with interest the announcement on 22nd Feb by the UK Government regarding the timeline for easing of lockdown restrictions.
Please remember that our Covid-19 Peace of Mind Policy remains in place: all bookings are fully financially protected and should we need to postpone your planned adventure as a result of Covid-19 travel restrictions, then you may transfer to any available date up to the end of 2022. This policy remains in place until further notice.
Stay safe and take care,
Your Maximum Adventure Team

Update #17 – Thursday 15th October 2020
Hi All,
When we posted our last update, only a mere 2 weeks ago, we thought there was half a chance it would be our final update regarding Covid-19. However, 2020 has once again proved that things can so easily change! As always, we are constantly monitoring government guidance, now taking into account the new 3 tier system and how this impacts upon both our customers and suppliers. We are pleased to say that our planned events are still running and we are working hard to ensure that all Covid-19 guidelines are in place and adhered to.
Nonetheless, please remember that our Covid-19 Peace of Mind Policy remains in place, this time with a slight amendment – we are extending our postponement time frame by a whole year! Should we need to postpone your planned adventure as a result of Covid-19 travel restrictions, then you may transfer to any available date up to the end of 2022. This policy also applies to new bookings and remains in place until further notice.
Once again, we would like to thank you for your support over the past few months, it really has meant so much to us! We can’t wait to deliver your adventure for you – albeit a bit later than planned!
Take care and stay safe,
Your Maximum Adventure Team
Update #16 – Thursday 1st October 2020
Hi All,
Just a quick update in relation to Covid-19: we are delighted that we are up and running again, and therefore we are hopeful that this will be the last update on here, at least for the foreseeable future, in regards to Coronavirus!
The safety and wellbeing of our customers, staff and partners remains our number one priority. To ensure that our trips run as safely as possible, we are working with our suppliers to ensure that all safety guidelines are in place and we are continually monitoring government guidance and adapting our trips accordingly.
Please remember that our Covid-19 Peace of Mind Policy remains in place: should we need to postpone your planned adventure as a result of Covid travel restrictions, then you may transfer to any available date up to the end of the year after your planned departure date. This policy also applies to new bookings and remains in place until further notice.
If you have any further queries regarding the above, please contact your event planner directly.
Thank you once again for all your support over the past few months. We are looking forward to seeing you on one of our adventures very soon.
Take care and stay safe,
Your Maximum Adventure Team
Update #15 – Monday 24 August 2020
Hi All,
Just a brief note to let you know that the Covid Peace of Mind Policy is changing slightly now that adventures are starting to run again.
The main part remains in place – which is, should we need to postpone your planned adventure as a result of Covid travel restrictions, then you may transfer to any available date up to the end of 2021. If you then aren’t in a position to specify a date at the moment, we suggest you simply move your trip by 12 months. This policy also applies to new bookings. This policy remains in place until further notice. The minor alteration is that disinclination to travel due to Covid is no longer automatically covered, ie, if your adventure can go ahead, then any postponement because you don’t wish to go ahead would be at our discretion, which is in line with our standard ts & cs. If you have any questions regarding this, please do contact your Maximum Adventure Event Handler. The rest of the policy remains in place both for existing and new bookings.
We wish you all a wonderful week.
Kind regards,
Your Maximum Adventure Team
Update #14 – Monday 3rd August 2020
Hi All!
A further update in relation to Covid 19 and our current opening hrs.
We’re very happy to say that we are continuing with the reopening of our office as well as starting again with the delivery of our trips in August.
Individual email accounts are again being monitored (there may be some delay in response times due to workload and partial furloughing) and our phone lines are also starting to be re-opened.
Our Covid peace of mind policy nonetheless remains in place – which is, should you wish to postpone your planned adventure as a result of Covid concerns (even if it is going ahead), then you are free to do so up until any available date to the end of 2021. Please advise us of your new, preferred date when requesting a postponement. (if you can’t think of an appropriate new date, then we suggest you simply move it by 12 months). This policy also applies to new bookings. So, should you place a booking with us and you then wish to move the trip as a result of C19 concerns you can do so until any time the year following the booked date. This policy remains in place until further notice.
We would like to thank all our clients for their patience amidst what has been a terrible time for very many people for all sorts of reasons. We hope everyone is keeping healthy. That’s the most important thing currently!
If anyone would like to discuss their event, please do write to your event planner.
We look forward to seeing you on future adventures.
Best regards from all of us at Maximum Adventure.
Update #13 – Monday 13th July 2020
Dear All,
A brief update to start the week. We hope you had a great weekend.
We are in the process of re-opening the office, dealing with the backlog of work and also assessing viability for events in August and September. Now that the travel restrictions are being lifted, as well as the government position becoming a little clearer, we can get a better oversight. Currently, until you hear otherwise or you have chosen to take advantage of our Covid Peace of Mind Policy to move your trip, please assume your event will run.
As a reminder the Covid Peace of Mind Policy is: should you wish to postpone your planned adventure as a result of Covid concerns (even if it is going ahead), then you are free to do so up until any available date to the end of 2021.
Many thanks to all for your continued patience. Your safety, and that of our staff and our partner companies, remains our priority during this time. If we haven’t already done so, we will be contacting all those whose trips have been affected (March – July) in the coming weeks in order to finalise arrangements. As a reminder – no trip will be lost and all will be able to move to a new date. Please note that our phonelines are, due to work restrictions, not currently manned however the email lines are open. Responses may take a little longer however due to the situation.
These are very challenging times for the travel industry as they are for very many people. Together with yourselves and our partner businesses we will be able to find solutions.
We look forward to providing you with your adventure.
Kind regards,
Your Maximum Adventure Team
Update #12 – Monday 6th July 2020
Hi All,
We have started operating a very restricted office service due to the constraints that C19 has unfortunately applied to the travel industry.
All events up to and including 2nd August are postponed and we are currently in the process of assessing the viability of all the events thereafter. Due to the recent lifting of travel restrictions around the world we are hopeful that they will run and so, unless advised otherwise by ourselves, please assume yours will take place.
Our Covid Peace of Mind Policy nonetheless remains in place. This means that, should you wish to postpone your adventure as a result of Covid concerns, then you are free to do so up until any available date to the end of 2021.
We would like to thank all our clients for their support during what has been, and still is, a terrible time for the travel industry. Our business relies on your business and our supplier partners rely on our business. Amidst what are mainly sole traders and family businesses in this industry It is truly a team effort and we thank you for your understanding and support. Together, we can provide you with the adventure you want.
Our phone lines are, due to the restricted working hours, currently not manned and so we would request that you write to us via email and directly to your event planner if you are already booked on an event. Please be patient as we have reduced hours and a big backlog to deal with.
We hope you have all stayed healthy during this time. That, ultimately, is the most important thing.
Thank you once again and looking forward to seeing you on an adventure.
Update #11 – Friday 3rd July 2020
Dear All,
We are delighted that this update can be more upbeat! We plan, now that travel restrictions are gradually lifting, to gradually re-open our office from 6 July and start delivering trips in August.
Safety and wellbeing of our customers, staff and partners remains priority and we will keep updating as we expand our opening hours and can see the first trips going ahead. We will, in the first instance, only be operating limited hours and, also everyone is still ‘working from home’. Thus the phone lines are still not yet being monitored, however, the email lines will start re-opening.
Thank you once again to all our customers for being so incredibly patient and understanding. We really do appreciate it. It has been an extremely difficult time for the travel industry and it’s a huge relief for us to be able to start positively planning and running our adventures again.
We look forward to welcoming you back.
Your Maximum Adventure Team
Update #10 – Thursday 11th June 2020
We would like to thank all of our wonderful customers for bearing with us; your patience has been very much appreciated. In each step, we have aimed to put the health of our staff and customers first and will continue to do so as we move forward.
It feels at last as if re-opening is getting closer. However, in the absence of clear guidance regarding timelines, at the moment we are still recommending people who are booked in July to postpone their trips until at any point before the end of 2021. We review the trips planned for beyond July on a regular basis, and we are hopeful of the August trips taking place.
If you are booked to travel on a trip departing in July 2020, we will already have been in touch to confirm your postponement options with you directly.
If you are booked to travel on or after the 1st August 2020, you are able to:
- Wait to see if we can run the trip, please rest assured that we will be in touch with further information as soon as we can.
- For your peace of mind, already postpone your trip. We are happy for you to choose a new date any time before 31st October 2021, and administration/movement fees that would usually be charged will not be on this occasion due to the unprecedented nature of the situation. In regard to choosing a new date, we would not recommend selecting a new date in 2020 until the full duration of the Coronavirus pandemic is known. We are happy to make a note of any chosen dates provisionally, however they will not be confirmed until the situation allows.
Our office remains furloughed for the time being, however, we cannot wait to get back and planning your adventures as soon as the situation allows!
Thank you once again to all of you and we very much look forward to some exciting adventures ahead!
Your Maximum Adventure Team

Update #7 – Thursday 26th March 2020
Dear All,
These are tumultuous times for the travel industry.
Global travel advisories, due to the ongoing situation with Coronavirus, mean our activities are by necessity severely curtailed.
Therefore, following guidance from the UK Government, we have taken the decision to temporarily furlough (put on hold) our office.
Our individual emails and phonelines are currently not being monitored.
In order to maintain basic, essential functionality during this time, our office will contact you via two dedicated email addresses regarding the status of a trip you have booked with us and In relation to any outstanding balance for an upcoming trip.
You will be contacted approximately 4-5 weeks before your departure as to the viability and status of your trip. Until then, please assume your course is taking place.
We would like to reassure you that this is only a temporary measure and as soon as the situation allows, our office will reopen and we will begin planning adventures again.
We would like to thank our loyal and supportive clients, all our fantastic business partners as well as, of course, our hardworking and dedicated staff during this time. This period will be over soon and we will be up and at it again before very long.
All the best meanwhile and, most importantly, stay healthy. Don’t mingle. It’s just a short while in the great scheme of things.
With the kindest regards,
Your Maximum Adventure Team.
Update #6 – Friday 20th March 2020
Due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19 (Coronavirus) the majority of worldwide travel has come to a halt for the foreseeable future in order to combat the spread of the disease. Many of our service providers are choosing to temporarily close to protect their staff and customers and we completely support them in their decisions.
Everyone here at Maximum Adventure would like to thank you for your continued patience and understanding at this challenging time. Your support towards our business is invaluable.
As per our last update, all trips due to begin before the 30th April 2020 have now been postponed and our event planners will be contacting all clients directly to discuss their options. We will be contacting the May and June departures in due course.
The health and safety of our customers, staff and partners remains our highest priority. We understand your disappointment and we appreciate that these are testing times for everyone, however at some point in the future things will change and we look forward to providing you with your adventure then. We are very much looking forward to seeing you all on our trips again soon!
We will continue to update on here as is necessary and we hope that the situation will become much clearer over the coming weeks. In the meantime, please continue to look after yourselves and each other.
Update #5 – Wednesday 18th March 2020
Coronavirus continues to escalate and along with businesses globally, we find ourselves in an unprecedented situation. Our priority is, and always will be, to ensure the safety and well being of our customers, staff and partners.
With this in mind, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone all trips beginning in April. During this week (week commencing 16.03.20) we will write to all clients and partners that this affects. We will continue to monitor the situation and will write to all clients and partners on our May events in due course.
We thank you for your patience and understanding at this very challenging time. Please be assured that if you have a trip booked with us, we will be in touch and will continue to update on the situation as often as we can.
Update #4 – Monday 16th March 2020
We recognise that many of you are becoming increasingly concerned regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak. It is a rapidly changing situation which is creating huge challenges for the travel industry.
Currently, we are extremely busy dealing with queries relating to upcoming trips. Our team are working really hard to deal with the volume of calls and emails and are working on solutions in order to allow customers to postpone their trips. We will update on this in due course. We are thankful for your patience and understanding at this time and will reply to all queries as soon as we can.

Update #3 – Friday 13th March 2020
We recognise that many of our customers are concerned at the moment, particularly as the situation is changing so quickly. Our commitment is to ensure that you, our customer, can have a successful event, holiday and/or challenge. Together with our suppliers, who in many instances are family businesses, we will work to achieve this outcome. None of our trips are currently in any zones subject to UK travel advice to not travel to and therefore, for reference:

Update #2 – Wednesday 11th March 2020
The spread of Coronavirus is continuing to dominate headlines worldwide. We recognise that the ongoing situation is unsettling and some of you may have concerns about your trip.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) is currently advising:
- Against all travel to Hubei Province, China
- Against all but essential travel to the rest of mainland China
- Against all travel to Daegu, Cheongdo and Gyeongsan in South Korea
- Against all but essential travel to Italy
Once again we would like to reassure you that there is very little or no impact on customers traveling with us and we continue to monitor official advice on a daily basis. We continue to operate as normal and are working together with our suppliers to ensure that you have a great trip.
Update #1 – Monday 2nd March 2020
We appreciate that many of you may be concerned about the ongoing situation with Coronavirus. The health of our customers is of the utmost importance to us and we are closely monitoring the situation daily.
Coronavirus originated in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. Cases have since been confirmed in all provinces in China. As a result of this, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) have advised against all travel to Hubei Province and all but essential travel to the rest of Mainland China. Since then, an increasing number of cases have been confirmed worldwide.
Currently, there is little or no impact on customers travelling with us. We continue to operate as normal and for the destinations we are currently operating in, our normal terms and conditions will apply.
If the government advise against all travel to any destination where we operate within 14 days (non-UK based trips) or 7 days (UK based trips) of the trip start date, we will cancel the trip. We will then contact all customers directly.
Additionally, we want to reassure you that we are conducting checks with our suppliers to assess the situation independently on a regular basis and will make any other alterations to your trip as deemed necessary. At present, none of the destinations that we operate in are subject to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office advice to not travel to.
Please revisit this page for any future updates or contact our office on +44 17683 71289 or [email protected]/us should you have any further concerns.
