Hope Against Cancer

Hope Against Cancer was founded in 2003 and supports cancer research and treatment in Leicestershire and Rutland. To date, we have raised £8 million which has funded over 100 original research projects, 32 multi-year PhD fellowships and purchased vital scientific equipment. We also fund 2 nurses at the Hope Cancer Trials Centre based in the Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Hope Against Cancer’s partnership with the NHS and Universities in Leicestershire and Rutland has assisted the world-class scientists based here to flourish, and to become internationally recognised for their excellence.

The Hope Cancer Trials Centre has an international reputation for recruiting patients to studies and is often selected by new trials as a preferred site for conducting research. Cancer treatments are rapidly changing and the Hope Cancer Trials Centre is at the forefront of testing the most cutting-edge treatments in the world.
