Our Guides

Our guides have been individually chosen based on their knowledge of the area, their ability to make you feel safe in the environment you are in and also the rapport they can build with you. They hold current and appropriate qualifications and have an amazing array of skills from bike maintenance to speaking local languages. The majority of our guides have worked with Maximum Adventure for a number of years, coming from all sorts of life-paths, with a variety of different nationalities, but all sharing a love of adventure.

Our network of guides, leader and local outfitters provide you with the best experience possible. Within Europe we use European instructors and leaders and for our expeditions in the rest of the world we work with hand-picked local companies who provide the local services. We also provide training on how to use the relevant equipment where necessary and courses to help you prepare for your real adventure. In most cases the guide leading you will have completed that particular route many times before. Either way, whoever is leading you will help you to make the most of your personal adventure.

Don’t take our word for it. Here are a few comments from our clients about our leaders:

  • “Also, I haven’t had the opportunity to fully thank you and the team for such a great experience in Yorkshire. It was really seamless and easy from my perspective and we were thrilled that everyone was able to finish the event. The guides were very professional and did a good job of keeping us together to complete the challenge as a team”. Yorkshire Three Peakers, Oct 2019
  • “Huge thank you for organizing our Three Peaks Challenge last weekend. We have had an amazing time with the team and our fantastic guide Sam, who brought us safely up and down the hills. I’m very proud on the team and myself and can only say that – without Sam’s experience and help – this would not have been possible.” Three Peaks Challengers, July 2019
  • “Just a quick line to say thank you for organising our groups 3 peak challenge – I loved it.
I cannot speak highly enough of our guide, James – he was superb. From lending people his spare poles, giving the drivers directions, reminding us to eat and drink and keeping people cheerful when their knees hurt and making us all feel safe – I’m not sure we could have done it without him. I definitely think I would have missed finding the peak of Scafell in the conditions.”
